 Italian Violin Makers by Walter Hamma. The violin maker Walter Hamma was one of Germany’s great 20th-century violin experts. This encyclopedia of Italian Violin Makers was written by him in 1931 and this 8^th edition was published in 1993 (revised and enlarged by Josef-Stefan Blum).  In 804 pages it contains detailed illustrations of more than 300 fine violins by Italian master violin makers from the 17^th century up until 1930.

The book has a hard cover bound with gilt-stamped linen. Includes dust jacket and cardboard slip cover.
