Magnificent original oil painting commissioned by the owner of two violins built by Helmut Ellersieck. These particular violins are painted here in stunning realistic detail. The shape of the violin is often distorted by many artists who can’t seem to get the flow of the outline right. Here not only are the shapes refreshingly true to life, but the translucent quality of the varnish is masterfully portrayed. Completed in 1954 and signed by the artist, Kathleen Walker.
